CCP Vaccine Guide

Vaccines are a public health miracle and a gift from God. Based on the way our immune system was designed, they provide natural protection against harmful and deadly diseases. While there has always been some controversy regarding vaccines, unfortunately this causes uncertainty and anxiety for many parents. We believe that vaccines save lives, that in most cases the risks of the disease are far greater than any risk from the vaccine, and that there is no credible scientific data showing any serious harm or risk from vaccines.

Vaccines are one of the most researched medical treatments and the research data overwhelmingly shows that they are safe and effective. They are far more thoroughly researched than many common over-the-counter medications and chemicals we use every day in shampoos, deodorant, makeup, processed foods, and other common parts of our daily lives. As with everything in life, we must always compare the risks and benefits of any decision we make.

We recommend that our patients follow the recommended schedule for childhood vaccines. We also respect parents’ ultimate right and responsibility to make medical decisions for their children; our role is to partner with parents in the care of their children. We provide a great deal of evidence-based and scientific information and education about vaccines, as well as our recommendations and what we do with our own children. However, we do allow parents who choose not to give some or all vaccines, or to follow a vaccine schedule of their own choosing, to remain in our practice.
